Erin Gray PDF Print E-mail

Erin Gray in her role on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, will be attending ImagiCon 2010For five years on nightly network NBC TV, Erin Gray was the American public’s image of the ideal woman. Her “Kate” in Silver Spoons managed to have it all—marriage, family, and business career. And for the two years before that, she had redefined our public image of the beauty with brains, when “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” became a hit series, her sleek, sophisticated “Colonel Wilma” became a role model, and Erin Gray became a household word.Erin Gray from the television show

Magically last year brought Gil Gerard and Erin together for the first time since “Buck Roger” in a made for TV movie called, “Meltdown.” In addition , Erin thoroughly enjoyed working on David Kelley’s short lived but very funny comedy series, “Wedding Bells”, and  starred opposite William Atherton in the Sci Fi Channel’s “Ghouls” which was shot on location in Romania. Erin has just completed filming on location at the mystical Mt. Shasta a much loved project called “Dreams Awake.” This very special film reunited Erin with Tim O’Connor, Dr. Huer from “Buck Rogers,” who portrayed her dad, and Gary Graham as her husband.

In addition to raising two beautiful children who are a constant source of pride and joy, Erin and her husband, the noted Director of Photography Richard Hissong, are currently producing a video on one of her favorite subjects, Chi Kung & Tai Chi. Erin teaches these moving art forms 4 days a week at the Encino Acupuncture Center and travels around the county sharing her passion for Tai Chi and the healing arts.

Electric Attitude PDF Print E-mail

Rock fusion band, Electric Attitude, will be attending ImagiCon 2010"Houston rock four-piece Electric Attitude possesses one of the most apt band names in recent memory. Their abrasive yet danceable blues-inflected style is built upon a foundation of pure rock n’ roll attitude, each element of the music growling defiantly at its listeners as if to dare them to ignore the band. Singer Blake Shepard writhes and struts his way through the funky jungle inhabited by his bandmates, who add a great sense of danger to the proceedings with their spiky riffs and stomping rhythms. “Shot on the Dance Floor,” a libidinous romp laden with deep-fried guitar hooks, will leave you no choice but to give Electric Attitude’s music a shot – where else but the dance floor." Amorn Bholsangngam - URB Magazine/URB.com

Singer Blake Shepard, bassist Kwesi Sackey, and guitarist Jordan Bell formed Electric Attitude in the summer of 2008 to take their individual influences in the genres of rock, blues, funk, and soul and fuse them into a modern sound for crowds to stop standing with their hands in their pockets and grab somebody and dance. With a sound that belongs on a space-dust fueled rocket ship traversing the Chocolate Milky Way by a crew of alien strippers and sexy robots; Electric Attitude continue to create an exciting buzz about the new album and the future sounds to come.

Sam Flegal PDF Print E-mail

Artist Sam Flegal will attend ImagiCon 2010Sam Flegal has been fascinated by the strange and the macabre from a very young age. Fortunately for his budding morbid creativity, he was raised in a household that encouraged his interest in all things weird—Sam’s father was a magician and his mother a ventriloquist and clown. As a youth Sam often got in trouble at school for drawing what some of his teachers would call “dark creatures”; however, the encouragement of his friends and family far outweighed the discouragement of a few naysayers.

In December 2003 Sam graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, released out into the world to pursue his own strange art. Since that time Sam has vigorously summoned the dark creatures of his mind to make the unreal, tangible and the imagined, concrete.

Sam currently uses his strange imagination to help others realize their dreams of undeath through the power of Zombie Portraits (www.samflegal.com). Like a caricature from a dark carnival, Sam takes the living and brings out their inner dead. In addition, Sam helps writers and creators bring their visions of fantasy to reality through his strange art and illustration. Recently, Sam’s strange art has been featured in books from Alluria Publishing (www.alluriapublishing.com) and serve as the visual building blocks for the world of Gaeana (www.gaeana.com).Jester by Artist Sam Flegal

Artist Angela Sasser will attend ImagiCon 2010From the artist, "I am an artist based out of Atlanta, Georgia who grew up in a multicultural family.  I spent much of my life traveling as a military brat. It was overseas in Germany at a young age that I fell in love with my first taste of fantasy in the collected stories of the Grimms Brothers and Hans Christian Andersen.  I grew up with the dream that one day I might be able to follow in their footsteps and tell stories to awe and terrify future generations, to capture that sense of danger, triumph, and hidden magic.Original artwork by Angela Sasser who will attend ImagiCon 2010

I’ve woven my way through an education that includes three degrees, a BA in English, a BA in Studio Art, and a MA in Arts Administration. Chris Martin PDF Print E-mail

Artist Chris MartinI am often asked when I started drawing and painting. I have a vague memory as a child of suddenly realizing that it was much easier to bring a piece of paper to an adult to show them what I had created, rather than dragging them to the wall upon which I’d finger painted. Oddly enough, their responses to my work improved as well.

I am a Birmingham native, having been classically trained in Painting by Steve Cole at Birmingham Southern College. As well, I spent a summer as an apprentice to internationally known artist, Nall. My months working in Nall’s studio in Vence, France inspired a series of fantasy creatures (that many may refer to as “dragons”) that were inspired by the wonderful flora growing all along the hillside upon which we lived. With the skills gathered from my teachers, I have continued to produce art that is ever evolving, from the inks motivated by my love of Chinese calligraphy to the dragons that are the children of even the smallest of flowers.Artwork by Chris Martin

After over a year of working with mentally ill clients all around Birmingham (and I do so enjoy my other passion: people), I was able to purchase a home with room to work and create. But, as neither psychology nor art are one to make a girl rich, I invited fellow artist, Kelli Hovanes of Silver Cicada Designs, to take up residency with me. We share a studio and, as she is a designer/sculpture/seamstress/McGuyver of Crafts, I have begun to think more and more in the realms of the third dimension. We have begun experimenting in cooperative works and have had the utmost pleasure playing off one another's dreams and ideas. So, I’ve not just been painting on paper, but developing skills in Henna, in collage, and in our newest projects, leather masks. This has us challenging our abilities, both technically and creatively, and we can’t wait for the next.Artwork by Chris Martin

David LaRocca PDF Print E-mail

LaRocca’s formal training began early and was fully realized when he received a Degree in 3D Animation in 2003. He has been working as a professional 2D and 3D artist for over 10 years in the Web Development, Animation and Video Game industries. In this time, he began illustrating his own worlds of fantasy and horror. The spectral, haunting quality of his paintings reflects his interest in the darker side of the human psyche.Artwork by David LaRocca who will be attending ImagiCon 2010

It is no surprise that LaRocca finds inspiration in the works of artists in diverse media: musicians like Tool, authors like H.P. Lovecraft, and fellow illustrators like Brom and H.R. Giger. Like these artists, LaRocca is unafraid to explore the shadowy worlds of the mind without regard to the polite tastes of the mainstream. This gallery represents digital, traditional, and conceptual pieces from that exploration.Artwork by David LaRocca who will be attending ImagiCon 2010

Kelli Hovanes PDF Print E-mail

Artist Kelli HovanesAs a child I played dress up and made a mess of myself in makeup.  Rather than grow out of it, I went to UAB for a degree in technical theatre and studio art.  As an Alabama native, I mix fine art with my redneck streak.  I have to have my hands on some sort of project or else I do something that will get me in trouble – like constructing a trebuchet and baiting it to fling the squirrels across the yard.Artwork by Kelli Hovanes

I would say most of my work is multimedia, and by that I really mean that I’ll work in any medium that I can get my dirty little hands on. I never know when I’ll need to know how to weld, spin yarn or throw clay.  I am driven to create.  It’s the most positive outlet I have found and I know the squirrels appreciate it.

I have most recently delved back into leather working for my mask making.  One of the things that I enjoy most about theatre is the transformation.  It can be of a stage into a set, fabric into a costume, the audience throughout the production or of an actor into his character.  Time and again I have heard actors say that the character really doesn’t come completely to life until they put on their costume.  It is through this mindset that I have been drawn to making masks.  I love that a mask can both hide who you are and transform you into who you would like to be, or show a side of yourself you never let out.

After I graduated, life got in the way and rather than moving away and becoming a famous costumer I moved in with Linsey Martin so she won’t be living off ramen and potatoes while she finishes grad school. I drool over her watercolor and borrow her face paint when she isn’t looking.  With sharing a space has come the sharing of ideas and the creation of art.

In my spare time I love to make my friends up as zombies and set them loose on the local villages, take pictures of people’s shoes and make clothes for my creepy Japanese ball-jointed doll.Artist Kelli Hovanes in a corset she made

Nigel Sade PDF Print E-mail

Artist Nigel Sade Nigel Sade was born on a bright and sunny day nearly to some, and exactly to others, 40 years after D-day. Some consider this meaningful whilst the rest laugh at those people, but I digress. He was raised in hell ... or rather Ohio but I don't want to split hairs. In a smallish county called Portage. As a child he could be found drawing on any surface he could make a mark on, and with all the moving security deposits were more like donations. In School this A.D.H.D. Toth wannabe (but with hands) was considered a bit strange by his peers, ... a malady that never left him as it turned out. As a teenager he was a rebellious youth, A Technicolored street Freak, delving into every aspect of art, from Drawing to painting to Music to Religion to Science to Philosophy in general. Artwork by Nigel Sade

Then there were the dark times ... the marriage! When his soul was crushed by evil and doubt. He Dreamt of being an artist but that was not a real job ... how could you feed a family with that pipe dream? However, In just 6 and a half long agonizing years it was over. On the Up side His torment was not without reward; He now has 2 lovely Spawn with which to explore life. Shortly after his divorce Nigel graduated college with a degree in Philosophy. So Armed with his freedom, his offspring, and an amazing ability to argue points that even he may not believe, he set out on the high seas of art! This was a joyous thing! There was much weirdness, art, travel, debauchery and Success. Stories were made and told. Now he Currently travel the amber waves of grain, questioning whatever reality he is presented with, chewing that up and spitting it out in the form of art. Then Nigel shows that art to the hapless masses in hopes that it moves them as much at it moved him to create it.

His art in form is Symbolism represented in either a realism fashion or Symbolic Abstracts, and in function it questions basic ideas we hold dear as a people. It is mostly driven by philosophical motifs and just plain old strangeness. Nigel's belief is that art should spur conversation, not just match ones curtains. Now you may ask, "What does all this have to do with piracy?"  Well, he was always a grungy, bandana wearin freak. His family was and is highly Piratical What with their last name Rogers all the family businesses are Jolly Roger this and Jolly Roger that ... Not to mention their propensity for Rum. So with his families' nautical background and the new Pirate craze, the public proclaimed him a pirate, and a pirate he was. Yet, having always loved pirates, one can say Nigel got peanut butter in his chocolate!Artwork by Nigel Sade

Cherokee Hall PDF Print E-mail

Cherokee Hall will attend ImagiCon 2010Cherokee was born a hillbilly and has lived most of his life fixing things with duct tape and putting cars on blocks in his yard for absolutely no reason at all.  All of that stopped once he decided to make films.  Since then his ascent into movie making has been a steep and steady climb.  After several short films and a few local commercial deals, he decided that it was time to tell the story of his people.  That's when Mountain Mafia was born.  A true independent venture, Cherokee has been able to assemble a very recognizable cast and assemble the Kentucky film community in a way previously unseen.  It was a success.  Mountain Mafia got a distribution deal, and Cherokee got a three film deal, right before the movie completed principle photography.  Keep your eye on this young film making stud!

Look for Mountain Mafia this summer staring Survivor's Rupert Boneham, scream queen Tiffany Shepis, Maniac Cop's Robert Z'Dar, MTV Jackass' Mike Holman, Playboy Playmate Amy Hayes, comedian Tim Wilson, horror favorite Jim O'Rear, The Return Of Swamp Thing's Daniel Emery Taylor, and WWE wrestling legend Al Snow!Cherokee Hall will attend ImagiCon 2010

Daniel Emery Taylor PDF Print E-mail

Daniel Emery Taylor playing the part of Darryl Hallenbeck in The Return of the Swamp Thing

Daniel Emery Taylor is best known to comic/sci-fi fans as "Darryl Hallenbeck" in the cult classic monsterfest "The Return Of Swamp Thing."  The sequel finds the mucky DC superhero falling for the beautiful Abigail Arcane while attempting to vanquish his archenemy (and Abigail's stepfather) Anton Arcane.  As two young boys attempt to capture Swamp Thing on film (much like other loveable losers who have tracked Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster) they constantly run into trouble from mutants and Arcane's armed mercenaries.  Luckily, Swampy has a tendency to save the day.

Daniel went on to gain modest fame for his role.  He followed that up with spots on television's "In The Heat Of The Night" and the critically acclaimed "I'll Fly Away."  He was also a regular on local programming and even did some modeling and print work.  More recently, you can see him in the 2000 comedy "Road Trip," opposite the outrageous Tom Green.

Daniel returned to film early in 2009 with the release of ZP International's "Hell-ephone."  He was joined by several genre-favorites, including Ari Lehman (Jason from the original "Friday The 13th"), John Dugan (Grandpa from the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), Jim O'Rear ("Scream Farm"), and Alex Del Monacco (former Playboy Playmate).  This year, Daniel will be featured in the upcoming features "The Legacy" and "Hell House," both featuring WWE legend Al Snow.  He also has several other projects in development, including two Christmas films, a mafia thriller, and a good old-fashioned slasher.

With his “magical” background and having been trained in New York at The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts, it was only natural that Jim move into the realm of film, television, and theatre where he has worked steadily as an actor, stuntman, and special make-up effects artist on such projects as "Day Of The Dead," "Star Trek 4," "The Vampire Wars," "Lethal  Weapon 3," "Creature Feature," "Hayride Slaughter," "Cop & ½," "Psycho Beach Party," "Evita," "Little Shop Of Horrors," "No Retreat No Surrender 3," "Mortal  Kombat: Conquest," and many more with actors including Martin Sheen, Burt Reynolds, Mel Gibson, Amanda Plummer, Maximillian Schell, Robert Englund, Jon  Voight, Chris Sarandon, and others.

Allen Hammack PDF Print E-mail

Multi-talented Allen Hammack will be attending ImagiCon 2010Allen qualifies as a guest under several categories: game designer, author, scientist, and even actor!

Allen Hammack, the “Master of Mythology”, writes with authority on using myths and legends of the world in gaming. He wrote three books on the subject (Fantastic Treasures I and II, and Monsters of Myth & Legend III) for Mayfair Games. Sadly, these literary gems are hard-to-find collectors' items! (i.e., the royalties have stopped…) He contributed to the new edition of the WWI boardgame Dawn Patrol. In addition, Allen designed a boardgame based on the mythical Norse battle of Ragnarok, and was a chief editor of Deities & Demigods and Dungeon Masters Guide during the five years he served at TSR. Hired by Gary Gygax, Allen was Manager of Designers during the “Golden Era” of TSR, supervising a talent pool that included Tracy Hickman, Harold Johnson, Lawrence Schick, Zeb Cook, Tom Moldvay, and others. In his gaming career, Allen has contributed to some 70 products as author, designer, editor, or developer. These include the popular classic C2: Ghost Tower of Inverness; A1-A4: The Slave Lords Series; I9: Day of Al-Akbar; the games Top Secret and Boot Hill, and the tournament AD&D adventure Night of the Black Swords. His Inverness module was referenced in the 2005 movie Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God, as Berek says the cleric was with him “at the assault on Castle Inverness”. (At which point a veteran player of Allen's campaign said, “Now we know it's a fantasy—implying anyone went to Inverness and came out alive!”) Allen's current gaming interests are mostly directed towards railroad boardgames and Dawn Patrol (he's a nationally ranked competitor in both), World of Warcraft and Puerto Rico.

After leaving TSR, Allen returned to Birmingham and with his wife Susan started the Lion and Unicorn game, book, and comic store, which they sold many years ago but still have fond memories of friends and customers. He helped design computer programs to diagnose leukemias and anemias for cardiovascular research at UAB; worked as Manager of Information Systems for an explosives manufacturer, and worked as a quality control chemist for an alloy and metals processor. For over fifteen years Allen has been putting his chemistry degree to work as an environmental chemist/programmer analyst for a secret government laboratory in an undisclosed location, where he and his pal Pinky plot to take over the world. (Just checking to see if you're all paying attention!) In this capacity he has lectured and presented some scientific papers, and he squeezes in guest appearances at the occasional convention. Allen was a founder of the Birmingham Doctor Who fan club, now known as the Blue Box Companions (aka the BBC, of course). He also served on the Board of Directors for Continuity, the Birmingham science fiction convention that had several successful years.

Allen has a B.S. in Chemistry, a Master's in computer science and he has done post-graduate work in chemistry, business administration, and environmental science. Allen was an editor for Ærodrome, the magazine of the Fight In The Skies Society (WWI aviation), and wrote a chapter of its melodramatic serial, Adventure! and Glory?, in which…ah, but that would be telling…

Allen has been in over 40 theatrical productions, including an opera set in the American Old West, as Caiaphas in a local production of Jesus Christ, Superstar, and as an extra in the Tommy Lee Jones baseball movie Cobb. Allen earned a green belt in jujitsu before retiring with no bones broken, which he considered an even trade. Players of NTN Trivia Showdown on Tuesday nights may occasionally see him on the leader board under the logon "DR WHO".

Favorite Introduction: By Dragonlance co-author Tracy Hickman to Margaret Weis— "Allen is the man who taught me how to write.”

Sean Patrick Fannon PDF Print E-mail

Gaming Author Sean Patrick Fannon will attend ImagiCon 2010Sean Patrick Fannon has been professionally involved in RPGs and interactive entertainment for the last 20+ years of his life. Starting in 1988, Sean began writing freelance articles and game reviews for small roleplaying game magazines and fan `zines. He then started writing books for the world-famous Champions RPG (including High Tech Enemies, The Mutant File and Champions Universe). He then went on to become the Continuity Director of the Champions Universe property. During this time, Sean also wrote for such properties as the Shatterzone RPG and the Star Wars RPG, as well as Shadis Magazine, Adventurer's Club Magazine and Dragon Magazine for TSR.

Sean then parlayed his RPG experience into the computer game field, starting as a designer for Interplay Productions (where he was the lead designer on one of the Star Trek adventure games). He was then recruited away to Vortex Media Arts, where he worked on multiple properties (including a licensed TONKA activity game).

When his contract ran out with Telepathy, Sean was heavily recruited by Jared Nielsen to help start Obsidian Studios, where he worked from early 1999 until late 2000. During that time, Sean wrote the The Fantasy Roleplaying Gamer's Bible (2nd Edition), a completely updated and revised version of his `95 book. He also wrote and developed the Fuzion version of Shards of the Stone: Core. Then Cybergames.com purchased Obsidian and moved Sean back West for a time.

Sadly, that all fell apart. After a brief sojourn back in LA, doing some consulting work with Hollywood firms, Sean returned home to the South. He started working on his own projects while driving an armored car. He transferred from Atlanta to Chattanooga, TN, to be closer to his family. This is where he met some of the folks (to include Mark Swafford, Coley Brookshire, and Alex Smith) who would have dramatic impact on Shaintar: Immortal Legends, his most important creation to date.

Sean continued his work on Shaintar and other projects, consulting with many good and dear friends in various ways, looking for the right opportunity to dive back into the business full time. Then GAMA (the Game Manufacturer’s Association) came calling, looking for an Events Coordinator for the Origins Game Expo. Moving to Columbus, OH, Sean had the honor of working with some of the finest people in the industry, helping to run two truly great shows (Origins and GTS).

Then his old friends, Aaron Acevedo, Jason Engle, and Martin Klimes’ came calling, letting him know they were more or less “getting the band back together” (www.talisman-studios.com) and that they wanted to help him publish Shaintar: Immortal Legends. Thanks to his dear friend, Shane Hensley, it became the premiere Epic High Fantasy setting for the award-winning Savage Worlds system.

After a brief stint with a casual computer game company (FreshGames, LLC), life events drew Sean home, where he built a house on the old family property up on Signal Mountain (where he still spends some of his time). He’s now working for the largest e-publishing game store network in the world (OneBookShelf.com, featuring DriveThruRPG and RPGNow) as the RPG Marketing Coordinator, and he's also heavily involved in business development for the firm.

... and supported by the largest network of wonderful and geeky friends in the world, Sean keeps writing and rolling the dice. He's working on the next version of Shaintar, a new sci-fi/supers setting called "The Shift," and will soon be hosting a radio show on WLRH, 89.3 FM (Huntsville) called "The Eclectic Power Board."

Yes, Gaming IS his life, and he loves it. Buy him a beer (Guinness, if you please) and he'll happily tell you more than you might ever want to know.
