John Ringo PDF Print E-mail

Author John Ringo will attend ImagiCon 2010John Ringo had visited 23 countries and attended 14 schools by the time he graduated high school. This left him with a wonderful appreciation of the oneness of humanity and a permanent aversion to foreign food. He chose to study marine biology and really liked it. Unfortunately the pay was for beans. So he turned to quality control database management, where the pay was much better.

But then Fate took a hand: John has become a professional author and over course of time has published numerous novels including the Legacy of the Aldenata (combat SF), Paladin of Shadows (technothriller), Council Wars (SF/fantasy cross), Looking Glass (hard combat SF) and Special Circumstances (Christian urban demon hunter) series’. His latest series (yes, he does keep starting them) is the Spiral Arm Wars.

With his bachelor years spent in the airborne, cave diving, rock-climbing, rappelling, hunting, spear-fishing, and sailing, the author is now happy to let other people risk their necks. He sits on his back porch, thinks big thoughts, consumes amazing quantities of caffeine and nicotine then hallucinates his way through a novel. All of his books are available in deadtree as hardcovers or paperbacks in any local or internet bookstore and in electronic form (at a reasonable price, no DRM and cross platform) through webscriptions.net.

Stephanie Osborn PDF Print E-mail

Author Stephanie Osborn will be attending ImagiCon 2010Stephanie Osborn is a former payload flight controller, a veteran of over twenty years of working in the civilian space program, as well as various military space defense programs.

Stephanie holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in four sciences: Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and she is "fluent" in several more, including Geology and Anatomy. She obtained her various degrees from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.

She has worked on numerous Space Shuttle flights and the International Space Station, and counts the training of astronauts on her resume. Of thoseastronauts she trained, one was Kalpana Chawla, or "K.C.," a member of the crew lost in the Columbia disaster.

Stephanie is currently retired from space work. She now happily "passes it forward," tutoring math and science to students in the Huntsville area, from elementary through college, while writing science fiction mysteries based on her knowledge, experience, and travels.

Her current novel in work at Twilight Times Books is Burnout, a science fiction mystery about a Space Shuttle disaster that turns out to be no accident. As the true scope of the disaster is gradually uncovered by the principal investigators, "Crash" Murphy and Dr. Mike Anders, they find themselves running for their lives, as lovers, friends and coworkers involved in the investigation perish around them. What happened to the Shuttle? Who is responsible and why? Why is the government calling it an accident? Why is someone willing to kill to keep it a secret? And how big is the conspiracy? An exciting action techno-thriller, Burnout will leave you on the edge of your seat, not wanting to put it down.
